Goodbye Waknuk

It was early morning when I got disturbing news that Sally and Katherine had been captured and taken by the people of Waknuk. Everyone now knew what we were and we had to leave immediately. I got through to Petra, luckily she was awake, and told her to wake David. David and Petra came to my barn about a half hour later. David had not packed much but we made due with what we had. I stole two of my father’s great horses and two of my father’s baskets and we were gone. We kept in touch with Michael who was still in Waknuk because no one suspected him he was leading the search party in the wrong direction. A couple hours after David and Petra had fallen asleep I saw a man following us. I got startled I raised my arrow and before I knew what I was doing I had shot him dead. I had killed a man.
Michael reassured me through thought shapes that I had done the right thing. That this was a war. David told me to hide the body so I did, under a cluster of leaves. I wiped the arrow off and we began on our journey again. Later that day we were all sitting in the baskets when a sharp pain went off in our heads. We had no doubt it was Katherine they were killing her. Michael told us they were taking our gift very seriously, we had been living among them for about 20 years now they were afraid of us and our gifts. We continued our journey. We were scared. A couple hours after sunset Petra sent out some very disturbed thought shapes. She told us she was communicating with a woman who wanted to know more about her and us. She lived in a place called Zealand. Or as Petra liked to call it Zealand.
